Fundies Beat the Easter Bunny
Associated Press

A church trying to teach about the crucifixion of Jesus performed an Easter show with actors whipping the Easter bunny and breaking eggs, upsetting several parents and young children.

1. a "self mutilating woman" - ?
"Performers broke eggs meant for an Easter egg hunt and also portrayed a drunken man and a self-mutilating woman, said Jennifer Norelli-Burke, another parent who saw the show in Glassport, southeast of Pittsburgh"

5. OMG!
What is so rong with these people? Beating an easter bunny? Thats so horrible! But, for some reason, tis futnny.

“The program was for all ages, not just the kids. We wanted to convey that Easter is not just about the Easter Bunny, it is about Jesus Christ,” Bickerton said

Didn't realize you had to beat the shit out of a bunny infront of four year olds to do it. What the hell kind of meassage were you trying ot get across.?

7. The message is probably "Don't even think that this holliday is about...
some egg-slinging bunny", whereupon they grafted the extremely serious story of Christ onto the crass comercialized and secularized symbols of Easter. It's kind of like when that South Park episode changed from a story about some girls in a circus to the Elian Gonzales story. At the very least these people have engaged in theater that leaves a memorable impression.
