Come together for the Statewide Anti-Redistricting Rally: From across the state, Texans are uniting on Saturday August 9th on the South Side of the Capitol in Austin to say "Enough is Enough". Enough to special interests. Enough to special sessions.



Be a part of history: We are honoring the courage of the Texas 11 and the Killer Ds, the Texas legislators taking a stand against this power grab. Great Texas Musicians and special guests to be announced later. Bring your family, friends and neighbors to the biggest anti-redistricting event yet. All are welcome. Bring your organizations and feel free to table at the Pre-Rally in the park. Volunteer to help.

And as many of you know Willie supported the Killer Ds when they crossed over into Oklahoma. I just hope that his schedule can accommodate it. Even a 5 minute appearance would be so great. I'd like them to invite the Dixie Chicks as well, but they probably wouldn't come. Willie is more likely to do it.

Lady nearly shit laughing so hard when I answered Kucinich for President :-) Yeah, I don't answer hardly ever. Except when I might get to give someone a suprise zinger. And I told her I was looking fer a fight seeing it was the dems calling. I'm glad I didn't go off the deep end on her. I could have screwed myself up a good one. Sometimes I get lucky, or the Creator over rides my big mouth to listen and maybe get some good news fer a change :-)

I signed up to go. I hope everyone that wants to can go. This is one I won't get lost trying to drive where I most likely would get lost, as usual. I might even, and Might being the key word here, it's not written in stone yet, but I MIght try answering the phone again someday. Never know, it might just be what the doctor ordered :-)

TEXAS ANTI-REDISTRICTING "UNITY IS OUR STRENGTH" RALLY

U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay knows that our unity is his
weakness. In order to further his extremist Washington agenda he is
relentlessly pushing a plan to divide Texas congressional districts.

Come Together for the Statewide Anti-Redistricting Rally: From across
the state, Texans are uniting on Saturday, August 9 on the south side
of Capitol in Austin to say "Enough is Enough." Enough to special

WHERE AND WHEN: The rally begins at 11:30 a.m., and if you can make
it earlier, others will begin meeting at nearby Waterloo Park at 10
a.m. to march to the Capitol.

TRANSPORTATION: If you live outside of Austin and need transportation
to the rally, then call 512-480-8999.

are there going to be tables with buttons and t-shirts?

That's at Waterloo park. Vending is allowed there and some groups will be selling their wares. I'm sure the Killer D shirts will be available. Any group that wants to set up a community table can. There is no fee for the table area. Just bring your own table if you want your group to get some exposure. I'm hoping the Faux News T-shirt guys know about the rally and bring their T-shirts as well. I want one of those.

There is no vending allowed on the capitol grounds so nothing can be sold at the rally. The only buying and selling at the capitol has to go on behind closed doors inside the capitol. :evilfrown:

The Lone Star Iconoclast. Boy this newspaper better be careful the
republican thugs will come take them out. How dare they criticize
the Tricky Ricky and in the President's adopted home town. Oh my!

There are currently 150 districts and a corresponding amount of
legislators in the Texas House of Representatives. Add to that the 31
legislators in the Texas Senate, and throw in the governor and
lieutenant governor as well, and you come up with a grand total of
183 persons in the initial mix.
Give them each 10 days, a Big Chief tablet, and a box of Crayons
(64-count, the big box). Allow each of them, if they so wish, to
create their own congressional redistricting map.
At the end of 10 days, gather up all the maps, and throw them
into one of those barrels you roll round-and-round to pick a raffle
winner. Make the barrel solid, so whoever is rolling and whoever is
choosing cannot possibly see inside.
Have a preacher, picked at random, to draw three maps. After all,
everyone trusts a preacher.

Texans to Rally in Support of Texas 11 Tomorrow

The "Enough is Enough Rally" will be held at the south steps of the
Capitol on Saturday. Legendary Texas musicians Joe Ely and Ruben
Ramos will perform during the rally against congressional
redistricting. The event begins at 11:15 a.m. and will include an
audio link-up with the Democratic State Senators in Albuquerque who
will make a live address to the crowd. A pre-rally festival will be
held at Waterloo Park, at the corner of 13th St. and Trinity, about 2
blocks east of the Capitol, starting around 10:00 a.m.

That's what I'm talking about!!! Texas Hot Musicians in Hot Texas Heat. It was 108 degrees in Austin, TX yesterday. We are frying down in
Texas. But if you live in Texas you are used to the heat, just dress in light clothes and drink plenty of water. Bring umbrellas if you want to. Remember your sun block.
