David Dill Call for Volunteers to lobby for paper vote trail HR2239
Voter Verification Newsletter -- Vol 1, Number 8

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

We are preparing a new database in which we will track the position (for/against/undecided and why) of all members of the House of Representatives concerning Rush Holt's Voter Confidence and Increased Accessibility Act of 2003 (HR2239). We need a similar database for the Senate (we need a senator to introduce a companion bill).

We need people to contact legislators so we can properly update the database. Check with us to see if someone is already doing it, then (if not) call your Representative and Senators, ask for a staff member who knows about electronic voting, and explain that you want to know their position on HR 2239 so it can be reported on verifiedvoting.org. Then email a summary of his or her position to contact@verfiedvoting.org

We also need people to research individual states and counties.

3. From a DUer that PMed me in late July that prefers to remain anonymous:
The response from my Congressman D - Jerry Kleczka WI

"I am unconvinced that this measure to require a printed record is necessary and have concerns that it could compromise the secrecy of a person's vote."
