TAKE ACTION NOW: DEFINE THE DEBATES
TAKE ACTION NOW: DEFINE THE DEBATES

Please take one or more of the following actions:

(1) Rate the debate. Fill out a survey giving your assessment of last night's debate. Media for Democracy will use the Debate Scorecard results to help counter the post-debate partisan "spin" that often defines the lasting impact of debates.

(2) Submit your suggested questions for the next debates. Common Cause will share the results with the moderators of the Oct. 8 and 13 Presidential debates.

More information and the Web links you'll need for these actions are in our 30 September 2004 alert at: http://www.progressiveportal.org/alerts/?action

(3) Send your comments about the debates to national and local news reporters and editors. Brief, to-the-point letters may be sent to the media representatives of your choice. The post-debate coverage over the next few days will make a huge difference. Find media contact info at:

http://www.congress.org/congressorg/dbq/media/

(We don't recommend mass-mailing one message to several contacts; it's much more effective to address an individual e-mail to each.)

We're offering VHS videotapes of the debate, shipped Priority Mail to arrive within the next couple of days. See:
