Don't let Bush reverse protection of dolphin-safe tuna packaging, E-mail!

SAVE THE DOLPHIN-SAFE TUNA LABEL!

The Dolphin-Safe Tuna Program
and Ocean Wildlife Are Under Attack

The Bush Administration is trying to weaken the definition of the dolphin-safe label on tuna cans and pouches despite broad bipartisan public support for the program. The proposed changes to this successful program would allow tuna caught using the harmful practice of chasing and setting nets on dolphins to be labeled "dolphin-safe." This policy has the potential to devastate dolphin populations, especially three dolphin populations in the Eastern Pacific -- the northeastern offshore spotted, the eastern spinner, and the coastal spotted – which have all seen their numbers plummet as a result of dolphin-deadly fishing practices.
(snip)

We need your help in convincing the Bush Administration to finally demonstrate leadership position on the management of our oceans at the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission and elsewhere. We cannot sit by passively as our dolphin-safe tuna label is rendered meaningless and our ocean resources are destroyed by overfishing. Send a Free E-mail now to Secretary of State Colin Powell and to Dr. William Hogarth, Assistant Administrator for Fisheries, National Marine Fisheries Service. And please tell your friends about this imminent threat to these magnificent marine mammals!

2. There are things more important than money.
But these cretins will probably never understand this. I knew the animals would be fucked in the second term. Shit. :(

though i think the 2 best bets to stop this madness is to expose voter fraud (thus nulling his 'man-dates') and ignore commerce (to trigger economic buckling, thus depriving him of strength).

everything else is just a stopgap in the dam that is about to burst. either release the water and lower the pressure, or revv that sucker up and send it to critical. either way we can fix the results because the cruel overlord will be out of control.

but best of luck, loved dolphins (past tense, if lucky they'll survive past this madness).
