Inauguration day protest in DC?
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 06:09 AM by Kablooie
Anyone organizing this? What we need is one of those blanket the mall with zillions of little colored dots kind of protests. A chance to make a statement to the world about how much of the country really supports this guy.

Oops. I just noticed this is already a thread and I can't seem to find an 'eliminate' thead button. Sorry. (Great idea anyway though.)

1. Lots of people are
RedefeatBush.com is planning a counter-inaugural, complete with a counter-inaugural ball and has been holding protests just about weekly at Lafayette Park in front of the White House, complete with the Libertarian Presidential candidate and Green Vice-Presidential candidate.

Bartcop.com is looking for a coordinator who lives in D.C. to assist them in making and distributing signs.

2. Wear BLACK!
I thought this was a great idea.
It's a way everyone all over the world could protest at once.

4. I think I will add a palestinian scarf to my black hoodie.
I would be an honorary palestinian though -- if that would be okay with my arab brothers and sisters.

Also, I believe there will be sister counter protests on the left coast too.

This nation should ROCK that day! Rock against bush!

7. Am I The Only One
who feels that Inauguration Day isn't the BEST DAY?? I live in Florida and want to Protest but NOT on Inauguration Day. I signed up with ANSWER and BartCop, but they both want to Protest on the same day.

I posted at another site that I don't think the Media and/or Karl Rove are going to do anything but make us look bad! The media has done so little to understand or cover our angst, so if we show up on Inauguration Day we may just be spitting in the wind.

I have no problem butting heads, but feel we can be much more effective if we organize on a different day. We can be more Powerful with a Peaceful Thought Provoking March on another day. If we try to disrupt what is already going to be a celebration by the other side, we will be playing right into their hands.

I agree that protests should continue on days other than the inauguration, but i think the opportunity the inauturation presents should not be missed. we have to continue to show Bush and his supporters that we will not let them pursue their agenda unchecked. we also have to show the world how many of us oppose this, and they will be watching on inauguration day, like no other day.

everybody who possibly can, come to DC or protest where you are. he may get to sleep in the white house for four more years, but we don't have to let him sleep peacefully.
