A Petition Protesting the John F. Kennedy Assassination "game".
A petition I built...

"To: "Traffic" regarding their "JFK Reloaded" program.
We the undersigned wish to express our outrage and protest to "Traffic" and the world at large regarding their "JFK Reloaded" program. A computer program simulating the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy as gamers play the role of Lee Harvey Oswald is in the poorest of tastes, and will be hurtful to the Kennedy family.
We request any and all interested parties sign and pass on the url of this petition to their acquaintances to facilitate our protest.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned"

1. Another angle of attack:
Just put it out there that you heard that another company has been inspired to do something similar with the Reagan assassination attempt.

5. I'm sorry but I disagree with the petition..
Of course the game is tasteless. But the initial publicity of the game will probably be all the publicity it will receive from the media. Considering it's not really a game from a big publishing company that will sell many units, there's not much more to cover. That is, unless we keep talking about and then, and only then, will it remain a hot controversial topic. And truly, the longer it stays in the public eye, the more sick fucks will buy it.

And if the intent of the petition is to take it off the market, I don't agree with that either. I'm for very limited censorship. I feel this game crosses the line in taste but not in the necessity to get it off the market. It does not really actively advocate the harm to people, which is where I normally draw the line. It's unfortunate for the Kennedy family to know this is out, but it's the thought that this game was made to begin with that is probably more hurtful than whether it's on the market. And in that regard, it's too late.

Sorry for all of this, I too share the disappointment of this game. However, the bottom line is that the more attention it gets, the more people may have interest in it.

6. Such a Game COULD Be Very Educational If They Did It Right
They should accurately model the characteristics of that Mannlicher-Carcano rifle and its bent site and bold action.
Let them see what Oswald was supposed to have done and how
difficult it would be.

That would, of course, make the game too difficult. Oswald might
have a better chance with the Mauser rifle that he was originally
reported to have used -- but how to afford such an expensive gun
working a minimum wage job?

Perhaps the grassy knoll would also be an option.

7. It's all over the media now, but...
News of it's all over the media now, but just as the Sinclair company had, this company has stockholders! Just as Sinclair did, they're dishonoring an American war hero! Yes, they have the right to make a buck, but we have the right to call them pond slime for so callously using a dead hero.

10. It's uh, fun to play?
You do recall we're talking about John F. Kennedy, a world war II hero and honored Democrat President and father having his brains blown out into his wife's lap? We are discussing the same game, aren't we?
