What have you given up for your activism?
I was thinking about this just now;

I decided a few months ago that I would run http://www.WhiteRoseSociety.org as my full time occupation. Of course I had expected that it would cost me a huge part of my time, but it turns out that it also has been a vow of poverty; Although thousands of people use it on a daily basis, only about 1% of them (and they are all angels!) can be induced to support it with donations or by buying things through one of the affiliate links.

Still, I'm never going to quit. And I wouldn't be doing anything else for all the world.

What is *your* story?

What have you given up for your activism?

1. As a mom, engineer, and County Chair of the Democratic Party
I am finding myself trying to balance every aspect of my life.
I just got elected in December, and I wouldn't dream of resigning, but I have given up on every second that I had to myself.

Fortunately, I have a wonderful husband that helps me out.
I am spending a ton of money too, but I will never quit.

Lupita

2. I've given up a chance to work for certain government agencies
I don't think I'd be able to make the higher level clearances. Believe me, I just won't do anything that I think is wrong. I work for the FAA, and that is ok.

3. Friends!
I lost a relationship w/ a doctor and his wife, the doctor saved my life 12 years ago. He kept sending me W crap, so I finally told him to stop, well, I sort of went off on him, needless to say I haven't heard from him since September. I guess I can kiss that friendship goodbye!
