Camp Casey clean-up gas offer to a Texas DUer ....
A couple of days ago I offered to buy a tank of gas to a Texas DUer if they would go help with the Camp Casey clean-up, unfortunately I didn't bookmark the thread and we seem to be stuck in level 3 for the duration and I can't remember the username - if anybody knows anything can you PM me?

I will post this in Texas, GD and Activist forums.

1. tavalon was heading out today for clean up
that's all I know but was curious as to how much of a mess was left. Nothing next to NO but still, would like know that they still can go there next year if required.

2. I went but it wasn't me that you're talking about
Unfortunately, I can't remember the fellow's name either. He has a truck and was about 150 miles away.

The Crawford Peace House still needs help. There are still boxes and boxes of stuff that need to be stored/protected from the elements.

3. Thank you for showing up yesterday, I talked with Kay this morning and
she told me a DU'er from Austin had come in to help. I'm so sorry I was not there to meet and to greet you. I hit the wall around 2:00pm and much as I wanted to stay, my brain or my body or a combination of both along with Mr A missing me and me missing him got me in the rental truck and headed home.

Love you lots for going and helping.

I could not leave and come back to Dallas until I knew all was okay. I visited both camps and all looked okay.

Now, the Peace House, well that is just a whole another matter. They all cleaned it up good at the two camps and dumped it in on the Peace House in Crawford. Okay, we are slowly working through it. As I mentioned in other posts, when I drove in late Friday afternoon, I was stunned beyond belief. We recovered though in some small degree on Saturday and got most of what had been left to Austin and on the way to Covington.

As of this morning though, there is yet still much to be done and they were still in desperate need of someone with some basic carpentry skills.

Thank you again, so much for helping, showing up and for caring.
Peace,
S

5. Well, I kind of feel like he should have first crack since that is who
I offered it to, but if I can't figure out who it was or if he didn't/can't help is there anything they need there that simple money will help with or should I send it to the Katrina relief efforts? I want to give a little to Camp Casy or the Peace house first as I couldn't make it there and felt a connection all month with the whole process.

Glad to hear the guy's (Mattlage wasn't it?) property got cleaned up. Perhaps someone should take photos just in case of trouble? - I can see freepers throwing trash around so we get the blame...
