How many would do "Blue Flu" Monday after Sept. 24?
There's a large impeachment/anti-war rally sept 24 in DC, but many groups are planning on lobbying congress the following Monday.

For those of us who can't afford to be there for either effort, would you be willing to stay home from work that day in solidarity?

You could decide whether to tell your employer or anyone else the reason why you are doing it, but the crucial thing is, while the media can ignore massive demonstrations, that can't make people ignore an empty desk next to them.

We need to disrupt the machine, and this is a non-violent way to do it that has been under-used in the US. In Europe, they call it a general strike and it has been used with extreme effectiveness.

Who will do it?

1. Gladly, but as a stay at home mom who can't rub two nickels
together right now.... (last semester of my tuition, appliances breaking down left and right and an eleven year old car that decided to expire on top of everything else)... I'm pretty much out both the rally on September 24 and participating in a General Strike. Phhfftt! Oh well, I'll kick up my letter writing a notch in solidarity.

2. I would be glad to but no one would miss me. My children are
health care workers so I suspect they would refuse on the grounds of need - others need. It is a good idea but maybe it should be the NEXT anti-war movement and be a little better organized.
