Please help design the flyer with text and pictures.

This is protesting the obvious, that gas prices are high.

This does not address the problem to high gas prices, our dependcy on oil.

We as a country are dependent on oil. We have to get the away from it in all aspects of our life. Cars, heating, man made products, etc...

We need to go to the source and reconstruct our lives so they do not revolve around oil.

It will take hard work, much harder than some clever slogan posted at a gas pump pointing out the obvious.

at the gas pump will have no influence?
OR
no proof that changing our dependency on oil will have no influence?

The more we talk, the more you sound like you are upset with the salaries that these people make? Being upset about that is not going to change anything. People in charge of large corporations are still going to get paid large salaries whether we paper the world or not. It is the stockholders that have to answer to and has a say in what their compensation is.

Don't assume.

If you cannot communicate it effectively to everyone, what good is it then?

Your game is to post in a thread asking for constructive suggestions.

But you do no such thing.

So, instead of participating, you suggest other people have no solutions. Or that suggestions made by others fall short of your perfection.

Yet, you provide nothing constructive to the task at hand.

would be good. You know, with a castle marked "Exxon" or something like that. It is important, I think, for the American people to realize how much the CEOs are making off this.

As a companion flier, I'd design one that says:

SCREW THE OIL COMPANIES--HERE'S HOW:

@Walk or bike whenever you can.

@Carpool when you must go long distances

@Support local mechanics who are converting cars to electric and compressed air

First, listing those oil company president salaries are too much. Pick TWO CEO's per flyer. (You can make multiple flyers off each print, you know. These should be half-page or 1/3 page flyers.)

Second, putting the phone number of your area's Congresscritters is good. But remember that people are politically lost. They don't know what to say. We Americans have been so "nonpolitical" so long that we don't know how to talk back to our Congresscritters. So suggest a message:

Call Senator Cruella DeVil (XXX) XXX-XXXX
Tell them to lower oil prices by eliminating UNFAIR tax breaks
to oil companies, and LIMITING oil company CEO robber baron paychecks!

Unless they hear from ALL of us, they'll bankrupt EACH of us.

Only other suggestion; watch out for overuse of exclamation points. That's done by comic book writers, children and right-wingers. Your message should carry the strength, not your punctuation.

When you get a basic message down pat, then I can probably design a PDF flyer master that you can distribute.
