Hundreds show for "naked" bike ride (St Louis)

Associated Press - August 3, 2008 1:43 PM ET

... Hundreds of mostly nude bicyclists and curious onlookers descended on Tower Grove Park in St. Louis last night for the 10-mile "World Naked Bike Ride."

The ride has been held in 70 cities worldwide since 2004 to protest society's dependence on oil.

St. Louis police were on hand to ensure the riders wore the bare minimum, which included thongs, pasties, loin cloths, bathing suits and even body painting.

One rider was seen wearing nothing but a pink derby hat, but nearby officers didn't seem to notice.
