Revive Your Passion for Changing the World -- Moving from Good Intentions to Powerful Social Action
X-posted from GD.

Hey fellow DUers,

I'm starting of 2010 jumping onto one of my goals, which is to help activate people who care about the world and want to work powerfully for social change, but who are somehow stuck about how to make that happen in their lives.

Are you one of the people who's ready to start off the new year getting some support to "DU something" positive for the world? I've set up a way to help progressives (DUers and others) kick off the year with positive action on the issues important to us.

I'm a lifelong progressive social change activist and have practiced peer counseling for over 20 years. I've led a lot of workshops of various sorts, worked on social change issues ranging from the anti-nuclear movement to LGBT rights to election integrity.

I'm offering a free one-hour class via telephone called "Revive Your Passion for Changing the World ~ Moving from Good Intentions to Powerful Social Action." This is a gift from me to the community; I'm not charging for it. I want as many people as are interested to benefit from what I'm offering. The only cost is whatever you pay (in minutes or money) for a long-distance phone call to a U.S. phone number.

If you're someone who wants to make a difference but have felt you don't have time, or don't know how to get started, or if you care about so many issues it's hard to prioritize, I hope you'll take an hour to be on this call -- even if you think, "I'm not the activist type."

My goals in the class are to help you:
Dispel any idea you might have that there's nothing you can do that
will really matter.
  • Know what to do if you're passionate about multiple issues
  • Tackle the "not enough time" tiger.
  • Clarify your next steps in making 2010 a year when you make a
    difference
  • Learn where to go to get support for sustaining your efforts.

Obviously, that's a lot to tackle in one hour. Yet I really believe that if you come onto the call and give it your full attention for an hour, you'll get a boost in taking whatever is the next step for you, and some resources to keep moving from there.

Date: Sunday, January 10, 2010
Time: 4pm Pacific time
Place: In the comfort of your own home, by telephone

Click here for more information and to register.

If you're interested but don't expect to be available at the time of the call, please sign up anyway. You'll receive a link to the audio of the live call, which will be available for a few days, and you'll also find out about future calls on this and related subjects. It's best to be on the live call if you can, so you can participate in the Q&A.

It'd be great to have some more DUers on the line. Several have signed up already. I hope to hear you next Sunday!
