Need DU Wit - Help With Catchy Slogans - Rich get tax break/Kids get School Cuts
I need help coming up with some clever sayings to protest cuts to school budgets - Frame is Valentine's Day - like a broken heart with "Cuts Hurt Kids" - I'm sure the witmasters around here can come up with some. The valentines will be delivered to State Legislators. NY Gov (D) and Rs want to allow a tax on the rich to expire and make draconian cuts to school aid. Focus is on kids suffering to give the rich a tax break. THANKS for any help!

http://www.pressconnects.com/article/20110124/NEWS01/101240350/Far-reaching-N-Y-budget-cuts-forecast
Sheldon Silver, the powerful Assembly speaker, said the tax on those making $200,000 or more that is due to expire at the end of the year, is still up for consideration.

Cuomo has said he considers reapproving the surcharge a new tax and wants it to sunset...

... In recent weeks, rank-and-file Democratic Assembly lawmakers have raised concerns with the governor over letting the tax expire, which is known as the "millionaire's tax" by its supporters

..."Our concern that if there are large cuts in education, it will undermine the education at all our schools, but especially in our neediest schools," he said. "There have been a lot of cuts to after-school programs, arts, guidance counselors; those are first and more cuts will hurt more."

Affirmative action for the minority millionaires.

Millionaires need to be protected. We only have a few millionaires but millions of schookids.

(Those seem to be their talking points, reframed)

4. any help at all appreciated
even the germ of an idea - we do have people working on this, but need more brains on it - also, most of us are grimly serious sorts, lol - not too good at catchy/clever - but as I said, even the germ of an idea helps -

14. Germ of an idea here
Something connecting "Atlas Shrugged", the bible of the predator class, with atlases being cut from school libraries due to funding cuts. If someone can assemble that into a gag, that could be a good protest slogan.

Un-educated consumers can't afford your product.

Un-educated workers can't assemble your product.

So cut the BS before we BITE BACK!

8. Learn 2 Love. Cut 4 Hate.
What's in YOUR heart?

Visualized as a heart, bifurcated into a vibrant, red heart with text "Learn 2 Love" and a black, sickly heart with text "Cut 4 Hate".
Below add text "What's in YOUR heart?

17. Florida feels your pain...and then some
Here in Florida, we've had lots of experience with legislators who never met a corporate tax break they didn't like. Not in keeping with your Valentines theme, but these have served me well in the past:

Education Cuts Never Heal.

My legislators went to (insert state capital name here), and all I got was this LOUSY FUNDING !

Read My Lips: Raise My Taxes For Public Education

Quality Funding = Quality Education

PUBLIC EDUCATION
If you’re for it, FUND IT !

Voters Won't Buy What (insert governor or legislator's name here)'s Selling

Let's Get Back To Basics
Public Schools Need Real $$$

Stop Cheating (insert state name here)'s Children !

(Insert state name here): Where We Stack 'em Deep and Teach 'em Cheap

(Insert state, governor, or legislator's name here): Cheating (insert state name here)'s Children and Proud of it !
