Hate from the heartland

Hundreds of Long Islanders stood outside Mepham High School yesterday to blast a handful of out-of-town picketers who said teaching tolerance of gays led to the football hazing incident that has rocked the school.

The picketers - eight family members from a church in Topeka, Kan., gathered on the sidewalk in front of the Bellmore school at 7 a.m. waving anti-gay signs, including one that read "God Hates Fags

God blew up the shuttle????????????????

they have a designated "gay day" withing the gay community. Somehow a bunch of haters found out and took their kids to protest. They had kids as young as 4 and 6 holding huge signs that read "Sodomy is a Sin", etc. Luckily for them, the police moved the anti-sodomites across the street from the fair - and right in front of a punk bar. The group of protesters got a major taste of their own medicine as all kinds of punk-rockers, giant, muscled tattoo-bearing liberals and other happy bar patrons went out to confront them - or "engage them in civic discourse" as one bar-patron put it. Needless to say the haters quickly packed it in and fled the area.

Why are these kids not in school? It's sad to think they may be homeschooled and not exposed to other, healthier points of view.

I homeschool my adopted son and try my best to make him aware of the world 'out there'.

Sounds like his handiwork. Takes a special person to picket at funerals of AIDS victims and their families.

Actually, Fred better hope that there is not a Judgemental God on his day, because I think he's going to be in for a rude awakening.

We in KS have come to know him anywhere. Even the conservatives here hate him. They do home school their children. And they always come to protests. They have had SRS called for having the kids out protesting in the cold with no coats and standing on busy streets. Nothing happens.

Want to know another bad thing about him. He is a regisitered DEMOCRAT. He does it to piss us off. Of course, Dr. Tiller (nationally recognized and hated abortion provider in WIchita)is a regisitered Repub just to piss them off. (Maybe that explains Zell Miller.) :)

Isn't it great to see what a cultured society America's children will have a chance to live in? I'm glad I don't have any.
