"For decades, a majority of Americans have not approved of homosexual relations. That had begun to change, until the Supreme Court ruling in June and the Massachusetts ruling in November. A New York Times/CBS News poll conducted in July found that 54 percent of respondents said homosexual relations should be legal. Only 41 percent of the respondents in the latest poll said they should be legal."

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
as long as they're straight.

Were any of you contacted and asked to participate in the poll? Me neither.

2. the numbers don't bode well for them though
I seem to remember that among people in the 18-29 age group the numbers were very different, something like 58-59% saying they should be legal.

Also, comparing Democrats and Independents, the numbers were virtually identical, while Repubs were very low. This bodes well for democrats, since the extremism of the Repubs on issues like this is a turn-off for independents.

3. I hope you are right.
I'm feeling very encouraged by the current poll results at afa.net.
I hope we can keep those numbers up there!
