The winner ticket: HD & CMB
Edited on Sun Dec-14-03 09:14 AM by aneerkoinos
Picking Carol Mosely-Brown is of course cynical and manipulative, racist and sexist if you will. But it is THE winner ticket, empowering the major sections of US populace that have felt left out. A black woman VP guarantees the "soccer moms", black and other minority votes, women votes generally. Dean would get those anyway, say you, but that ain't so. Dean has got those who know, those who follow news, those with Internet connection. But the masses without Internet, single moms with no time to follow news, working two or three lousy jobs? The symbol of a black woman VP will electrify the people with the support of the activists working for voter registration day and night. A winning campaign, winning revolution in US politics needs more than Dean whoring for the so called center, what is needes is a true grass roots win, getting the people vote. 80% voter registration, rebirth of democracy, deathblow to corporate media talking heads and Washington pundits. How about that?

Because they gonna steel it, they gonna try it, and only revolutionary grass roots campaign with highest voter turnout ever is going to stop them, put the fear of people in them, and if they succeed in stealing, has the power to take the country back through mass action. The fight is not about Democrats, Republicans, partisanship. The fight is about democracy that was lost in 2000 and even before that, the fight is bringing US democracy to the 21st century.

Why do I wright about this from Finland? Cause we had very empowering presidential campaign few years ago. The President of Finland, Tarja Halonen, is socialist, former trade union lawyer(sic!), from urban working class family, activist in sexual equality issues, mother outside marriage; during her campaign she had boyfriend whom she married only after becoming president, she don't belong in the church and she ain't even pretty... and she lisps :D.

Her opponent, a JFK look a like youngest Finnish PM ever, ran a patriotic, family values campaign. Finns are mostly patriotic, family values people, majority voting non-socialist. So why did Halonen win? Because she was a real person, honest and herself, with real values she had worked for all her life, not a campaign image with campaign values. Now she enjoyes the popularity of incredible 90+ per cent.

The point of this story? Trust the people! You got chance to fight it from the roots against elites and corporate media, and win is guaranteed. Use that chance!

1. She won't be on a winning ticket with Dean
Carol Moseley Braun has no prayer of being on a winning ticket. When you compare her to Hillary, it isn't even close. She is a nice person, and should be given some role.

6. I don't like Hillary
I think she's phony, and what kind of person writes a book like that, so IMO she's not a real person, she's media personality without decensy.

But I didn't want to start a discussion on Hillary. Please continue elsewhere.

7. Are there other high ranking black women, or latina women?
I think if Dean (or anyone running on top) should pick a black, or latino man or woman.
