ARG poll: Bush approval 54% among registered voters (after Saddam)
American Research Group has released a new poll which indicates Bush approval rating is highest its been in several months due to the hype over the capture of Hussein.

Overall among all Americans Bush approal is 58% positive and 37% negative.

BUT

Among registered voters (which I put more faith in) his approval rating is 54% (well below the 63% Gallup reported today) and disapproval is 40%, still a nice uptick because of the media whoring over Saddam.

Overall people are feeling more optimistic about the economy too but that generally happens when there is national euphoria.

I don't think any of these numbers will have a lasting effect. As John Zogby said a few days ago, "Bush numbers will go up in the weeks after Saddam's capture but they will subside again before the elections."

1. Let's do the poll again after the Kean announcement
is more widely known.

When the public finds out that Bush's own appointed investigator has determined that 9/11 could have been prevented if not for failures in the Bush administration, that number will take a dive.

2. Everyone keep in mind
Bush Sr had 68% approval rating this time in his term, and he didn't have nearly as bad an economy and war as Jr has.

A jar of mayonaise will beat Jr. Here comes the ass whooping.
