3. I think she's just great --
-- and I hope she wins hands-down in this race.

It will be nice to have another seat in good hands even before November.

Go Democrats.

I doubt that the voters know she's a pro-abort, pro-gay agenda, feminist extremist. She certainly won't tell them, and the media probably won't, either. So the Republican will need to go to work and get the word out!

6. I think Herseth has a good chance of being the first woman president
I know it's a long ways off but she's only 31 so she has plenty of time, there's a good chance Daschle will retire in 2010 (rumor is he wanted to this year but knew the Democrats would have a tough time retaining his seat), so she could keep his seat for us, and then if she ever ran or ended up on the ticket as VP later she could help big time with rural states, and imagine the Dems actually winning South Dakota!

"geez, this people are insane."

Good try, that was almost a complete and intelligible sentence.

11. I think she is kind of moderate
Any democrat from South Dakota is going to be more conservative than a lot in the party but I think she will be a fairly loyal democrat in the center of the party like Tom Daschle and Tim Johnson are.

Issues2000.org provides a little information but they don't have much on her because she doesn't have a voting record.

http://www.issues2000.org/House/Stephanie_Herseth.htm

She does have the backing of Emily's List. But, I don't believe she has backing from environmental groups. She did have the support of the South Dakota Education Association and the South Dakota AFL-CIO.
