There has been a lot of criticism of Clinton...
There has been a lot of criticism of Clinton, both he and she, being the type of politicians that will do anything to win: Tell half-truths, distort the facts, etc.

People make that statement as though the Clinton team is the only of its kind who desire to win at all costs. Bush stole two elections, and seems to my mind the greatest distorter of facts for pushing forward his own power and agenda.

But let's take things to another place on the concept of truth. If Obama is truly that seaker after truth that he claims himself to be, the person that refuses to engage in campaigning tactics that involve distortion and personal attacks, then why has he not focused on what is probably the most important truth anyone should be advocating: that our country has lost its way if we do not impeach Bush/Cheney?

There is something drastically wrong with this entire election process, an elephant in the room that none of the candidates will address frankly.

In many respects, their fear to address it means we have lost the concept of democracy we so cherish (at least that is to say that the illusion of democracy has been forcefully ruptured to even those who are not well-read).

1. How about this, it is the HOUSE that IMPEACHES, NOT the SENATE
and if the DEMOCRATIC leadership in BOTH the house and the Senate refuse to allow it to proceed it won't happen

Kucinich has been blocked every step of the way

So you analyzes the candidates on their record, i.e. voting record, and what they will do on the issues

and which ever one is more in tune to your way of thinking you go with that candidate

2. I'm a supporter of Edwards, but compared with Repukes, the Clintons are gods.....
... I may not approve of the Clintons because they are far more right wing than I think Dems ought to be, but my opinion of Republicans is so bad, there's just no way to compare the Clintons with Republicans. Republicans are scum. I will vote Dem regardless of who wins.

3. There is indeed something drastically
wrong with this entire election process. It's been going on for a year already. The money raised is grotesque, and yet our voting systems are vulnerable to all kinds of tampering. Year after year after year. The Crimes of this Administration are being swept under the rug just as systematically. The entire government apparatus, the Justice Department, the Congress, the Supreme Court, the Military, the National Press...broken...year after year after year.

Maybe this year we can get them to count our votes.

4. Impeachment is a duty, not a weekend sport.
Hi. My first posting on Democratic Underground.

I don't expect Obama to be championing impeachment right now for one big reason - has has more hanging around his neck than the noose that used to be there for his ancestors in the bad old days. The guy walks a fine line, and there are more expectations of him than would be there for a white candidate with a non-Muslim sounding name. Realize, I say this as an Obama supporter. He is under more of a microscope than the others, and if he doesn't stay "positive" and on message, they'll eat him alive.

Kucinich just dropped, and can now spend his energies along with Wexler on getting the good ship Impeachment under full steam. I will support them every step of the way. But if Obama doesn't stay with something that most Americans find positive, he will not last to the nomination. And I want him to take that sucker.
