Are people STILL talking about Edwards? A rant...

Edwards was a part of the mind-blowing judgement fuck-up that is known as the current quagmire occupation of Iraq. He voted for the war. Now, as a smart trial lawyer and capable U.S. politician, he should have been able to discern the fact that all of the WMD claims were complete BULLSHIT. I mean, why the fuck was I sitting at home screaming at my TV set as all but 23 senators voted for the war? To make matters worse, Edwards was ON THE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE that was briefed on the sketchy intelligence that was being fed by the Bush Administration, and knew that there was disagreement WITHIN THE ADMINISTRATION. Just in case it wasn't obvious enough, there was another red flag. So while I was watching the talking heads wondering "Why do we have to go to war if we already have inspectors in their country looking for those supposed weapons anyway?", Edwards was sitting in a room with Feinstein, Bayh, Rockefeller, and others, pretending to believe the bullshit that Durbin swore had made the case for war EVEN MORE TRANSPARENTLY FALSE than what we were seeing on TV. And he still couldn't figure it out? Really. A trial lawyer and senator. An accomplished man, a smart man, and a great orater with terrific charisma. Really?

I did like his campaign platform, though. He was willing to talk about poverty and corporate greed and healthcare with the amount of emphasis that those topics deserve. I could never support him though because he is responsible for the worst clusterfuck of my entire generation. His vote for the war is SKETCHY and contributed to DISASTER. All the while I was screaming at the TeeVee knowing that it was complete bullshit. And he didn't know? Really? Come on.
