Nancy vs. Hillary...or why Hillary shouldn't screw with an ass kicking speaker of the house.
House Broker by Michelle Cottle
Nancy Pelosi doesn't like to be threatened.
Post Date Wednesday, June 11, 2008

Nancy Pelosi believes in being direct. With the Democratic presidential contest running hot, in March a reporter with Boston TV station NECN asked the House speaker about the possibility of a dream ticket uniting Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Doe eyes wide, the nation's highest-ranking Democrat flashed her trademark smile ominously.

"I think that the Clinton administration has fairly ruled that out by proclaiming that Senator McCain would be a better commander-in-chief than Obama. I think that ticket--either way--is impossible."

Pelosi turned to walk off, then retraced her steps and added, with another half-laugh, "I didn't want to leave you with any ambiguity."

Nope. No ambiguity here, say supporters of Team Hillary. As party elder and chairman of the upcoming Democratic convention, Pelosi maintains that she will not pick favorites in the nominating contest. But, as many of Hillary's people see it, Pelosi's repeated rejection of a "unity ticket" is just further proof that, official neutrality notwithstanding, the speaker wants Barack Obama to be the nominee--and will use her influence to make sure there is no place for Hillary on his ticket. Pelosi is "anything but uncommitted," insists one Hillary adviser, echoing colleagues.

1. Pelosi is direct with Democrats...

2. She knows where she stands and she doesn't waste her power on
fruitless missions.

Read up on her...she is impressive indeed. And under President Obama, she is going to be in the catbirds seat indeed.

3. Won't that be terrific?
I bet she has been sick of the triangulating games for a very long time. I wish rank and file Democrats understood what the hell has been going on. They wouldn't support Hillary for 5 seconds.

4. Yeah, Obama is going to have a freaking incredible supporting cast.
I can't wait!

I was so impressed reading up on a true woman of power. She doesn't complain about stuff, instead it makes her stronger and tougher and smarter.

6. This makes me wonder about Hillary...
...and how she will be a pariah in the Senate.

Obama will be the President. Pelosi will be tightly in his corner, as well Kerry, Kennedy
and other Dem party stalwarts. It will be a new day in politics, with Obama dousing the flames
of dirty politics. I'm not saying old games won't be played, and that the entire place will
be cleaned up. However, Obama is serious about playing fair and avoiding dirty tricks. This is
a dignified, diplomatic, wise man.

Does Hillary even have a role? At all? Unless she cleans up her act and completely changes, I
see her as an outcast.

Especially after some of the crap she's pulled. As Pelosi mentioned--Hillary's endorsement of McCain
over Obama, really doesn't sit well.

She'll return to the Senate with diminished power--and with a branch of the party with whom she is
currently at odds.

7. After some self reflection
Let's hope she finds the integrity I actually think she has, dumps all these parasitic advisers, gives Bill an ultimatum, and finds out she's got enough strength and smarts to do this honorably and on her own. Maybe then she'll be ready to to be Majority Leader and her and Nancy can really kick some ass.

8. 67 votes needed to convict on impeachment charges.....
.....the current Senate is composed of 49 repugnantcans, 49 Democrats, 1 independent, and 1 traitor.
How on earth could you get a two thirds majority out of THAT for conviction on impeachment?

Gawd, some people are dense.
