The 2010 version of the GOP has them running aginst positions they strongly supported, now that President Obama is in office:

-- individual mandates for healtcare
-- campaign financial disclosure of donors
-- aid to small businesses in tax breaks and loans
-- cap-and-trade of carbon credits
-- bipartisan deficit-reduction commission
-- deficit spending

2. The republicans are lucky that most Americans have ADD now.
How can anyone possibly remember what republicans said in long-ago 2008? What are we, elephants?

The average American citizen has the attention span of a gnat, except for celebrity gossip and American Idol contestants, which must be easier to remember or something. Important stuff, not so much.

I weep for the future.

3. Republicans Running Against Themselves
Unfortunately, the true fact you've stated is irrelevant. That fact will be totally lost on the people who are likely to vote Republican, whether core or independents. The only way to have a good result in 2010 is if the Democrats find a way ... finally ... to connect to all but the far right crazies. If the voters don't get what you're saying, you're not going to get their vote. And, we've got to call the Republicans for the hypocrites they are ... they are not the party of the people; they are the party of the conservative elite.
