3. Dean's cult

Will drown on their own arrogance. He leads in some polls. Big whooping deal.

I'm not concerned about this guy...When Democrats actually find out what he would do as President they'll be less excited, but he probably could pickup some redneck vote.

If Dean does win he will do a way better job in the white house than bush!

So would Kerry!

But kerry wont win trying to be Dean light!

5. HAHAH.
Who would want to be Dean or Deanlite?

Dean would trade every one of you meetups if he thought for a second he could get the Union support or any of the traditional Dem activist groups. Just because he put on a mask and adopted the language of the internet, doesn't mean he can fool everybody.

6. Give me a break!
First of all, Kerry was in front of liberal issues for decades. And, I am glad Kerry has enough class to stay above the name-calling fray.

Kerry has been at the forefront of:

Civil rights
gay rights
environmental issues (ANWR)
He is behind the expansion of medicare called kidcare , which got 90% of those Vermont kids covered in the Dr. Dynasaur program (which some people take credit for...) :eyes:

7. It is infathomable to me
how people at this board do not realize that the worm has turned. The Democratic Party must evolve or die.

Those leaders who are holding back the Democratic Party will kill it.

9. I think you should be fair
Kerry and Edwards are very progressive candidates. They have very liberal voting records, in fact so does Joe Lieberman. And all 3 have put forward some of the most progressive agendas, modeled after the Progressive Policy Institute agendas on everything from environment, renewable energy and economic stimulus.

10. It is unfanthomable to me that this is the idea of "EVOLUTION"
That Right Wing Website , Working for Changes, and its ROVIAN minion, Norm Solomon describes Dean as...

After Dean officially announced his campaign on June 23, some news stories identified him with the left. It's a case of mistaken identity. "He's really a classic Rockefeller Republican -- a fiscal conservative and social liberal," according to University of Vermont political scientist Garrison Nelson.

As a fiscal conservative, Dean is aligned with the status quo of extreme inequities. That alignment was on display during a pair of June 22 appearances.

In an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press," Dean delivered a one-two punch against economic justice. He advocated increasing the retirement age for Social Security, and he called for slowing down the rate of increases for Medicare spending

Yup thats what the party needs, to evolve into a mirror image of the Republican Party, a new political philosophy called Deanism.

12. Ouch, Norm!
"Usually, major-party candidates wait until they have a lock on the presidential nomination before diving to the center. Eager to avoid being hammered by the national press corps for supposed liberalism, Dean hasn't bothered to wait.

Dean is already sending a message to his announced supporters among peace and social-justice advocates: Thanks, suckers."

8. He doesnt answer them
AS a matter of fact, In Newhampshire last thursday, whenever people brought up Deans attacks, Kerry refused to respond aout Dean and said he was only going to run on issues, and not politicking.

13. Egnever, Dean is Following Kerry's Foreign Policy From the 90's To the Tee
Except for, you know, opposing parallel concessions in the Mid-East peace plan and, oh yeah, supporting Sharon's wall to keep out the Muslim barbarians. But other than that, if you look at Dean's foreign policy speech it is Kerry's except less specific, comprehensive and far-sighted. I'm not making this up. Look for yourself. Dean even uses some of Kerry's phrases.

And as environmental policies go, I Kerry is a voice, not an echo. Kerry has been talking about the 20/20 plan for years, and denouncing Bush's Orwellian EPA since Whitman set foot in the office.

Maybe you're thinking of the internet. But Dean had nothing to with that. Even Joe Trippi was clueless. It was the brainchild of a staffer with ties to MoveOn.org. Does that make Dean a political visionary for saying, "Yeah, why not?"

On most issues, you'll find that Dean is more or less a pale copy of Kerry. He does have his own health plan, but even there he is not far removed from Kerry.

I'm sure you'll feel that Kerry is a pale copy of Dean, but Kerry has undeniably been pressing the same positions for years.

I like Dean's enthusiasm, and I think he'd make a great President. But there is no way that you can credibly claim that Kerry is the copy of a former Governor who has only began thinking nationally and internationally in the last two years or so. This is not to bash Dean at all. He has many gifts that would benefit the nation. But Kerry simply has much more depth on several core issues, particularly foreign policy and the environment.
