A simple plea to fellow Dean supporters....
Take five seconds to read the board before you post about the Dean bat....otherwise we will have about 27 threads all about the bat...this is a key complaint about Dean supporters that I believe is fairly acurate...at least when there's a bat-a-thon going on!!!

I would also urge the mods to be especially vigalent in closing down these threads...as it eats up alot of space and pushes other important threads off the board....

It only takes five seconds to scroll down the board to see if someone already posted about a subject...as of the time of this post, there are already three threads about the bat....

1. You are quite right
I think both Dean supporters and the mods should make sure that there is only one bat thread in each of the three relevant forums. (LBN. GD, PandC)

2. Another Dean support puts her foot in it
And, please, fellow Dean supporters, be courteous to people who support different candidates. Everyone will rally around behind our man when he wins the nomination.

:)

4. Exactly
While I support John Kerry, I still like every single candidate
(except Lieberman) and do not slam or bash any of them, as We
would hope that they do the same

3. "fairly accurate" is the right way to characterize the complaint

I would like to have the ability to repost the topic at least every 12 hours. This is a fundraiser with a time limit.

All of our candidates should get PLENTY of leeway for raising funds. If you've read any of the papers over the past few days you'd realize that we are at a serious disadvantage compared to the Repukes.

I don't think that everyone here will necessarily track back 24, 48 or 72 hours for posts, so let the fundraising posts go on, they're not really hurting anyone.

5. A "kick", yes, but is a complete repost every 12 hours necessary?

6. I'm concerned about the folks that won't see the kicks.

I think that there may be a good number of folks that come into DU and just read the latest posts. Maybe I'm not as sophisticated as most here, but for the longest time that is exactly how I read posts on DU. I never went to specific forums on the board and I'm now certain that I missed a lot. I don't think that we should take a chance of missing fundraising opportunities for ANY of our candidates just because we want to be a little stingy with the number of posts we allow. I'd almost bet that without establishing limits, the ANTI candidate threads would still outnumber the positive fundraising threads.

8. I see your point...I hadn't thought of that...
I, too, would like to make sure the word gets out, but I don't want to deluge the boards with multiple posts. I don't know what the best way to handle it is....

7. as I said...
a simple scroll down would suffice...but this is not an edict..only a request....if it's dropped off the first page then a new thread shouldnt be a problem....this forum doesn't churn over as fast as the general board....
