AWD campaign fundraiser starts tomorrow!

Just a reminder that Monday, Labor Day, will be the start of AWD's online fundraiser.

I'm running for US House of Represntatives in Ohio's 16th District, and I need you support. Here's the plan, so you can stay informed.

On Wednesday, I have a meeting with the Chairman of the local Dems. He wants to see a campaign plan, and he wants me to show him that I am a good Democrat, worthy of the party's support. I have no fears about that.

So tomorrow (Monday), I want to get started and show him I'm serious. Here's the day's schedule.....

9am - Richfield, Ohio - A protest against Bush, with memebrs of 7 different peace groups, the AFL/CIO and Sierra Club takes place. I'll be there (you knew that)
10-1030am - Bush arrives. Once he enters the building, the protesters will settlke in to wait for his exit. During that period, I will use my trusty bullhorn to officially announce my candidacy to the public.
3pm - Stark County Fair - I will make a short statement to a few friends and volunteers, thanking them for their support and asking them for their continued effort to take back the US House.
5pm - My webpage will open to the public, and we will begin an online fundraiser. The fundraiser will end 32 hours later.

Many DUers have already contributed, and I hope that many more will continue to support my campaign. Thus far, the average contribution has been 41 dollars. That's MORE than I thought it would be.

If you can donate 10 bucks, that's fabulous.
If you can donate 2,000 bucks, I'll rename my daughter after you (but SweetZombieJesus is not a name she'll relish).
All donations will be appreciated, no matter what size.

Help the Dems take back the House, and let's get a loyal DUer in office (or two - eyesroll's husband is running in Wisconsin)

I can't donate, but I'll promise you this: If the Supreme Court strikes down the prohibition on minor donations, I will send in a donation as soon as humanly possible after that ruling.

I was at lurking at DU last night while I was at work and saw your Blackwell post. I laughed hysterically! You are perfect for the job!

Everytime you appear for a campaign event during what would normally be overtime hours (nights, weekends, etc) make a point of saying that your opponent eliminated overtime pay for workers and have a visual (time clock) to illustrate. I think that the overtime issue is a good one to run on and having a visual to associate with it would be great. Maybe a whistle like on the flintstones would work too. I hope to be able to afford to donate to you by next month. I can't now.

I am in a financial hole for the time being so I am doing what I can. I would also try to find gatherings of nurses, store/fast food managers, and the like to hit this theme with. They appear to be the most affected by this stuff.
