New UNH poll has Kerry and Dean in statistical tie...
Looks like they are tied with Hillary who has 14 percent!

A new poll released this afternoon by the UNH Survey Center shows John Kerry and Howard Dean within the margin of error for the lead in for the Democratic presidential nomination among New Hampshire voters.

The poll of 266 randomly selected Democrats between June 17 and July 6 shows Kerry with 18 percent support and Dean with 16 percent.

The poll has a margin of error of +/- 6 percent.

Joe Lieberman was the only other candidate with support in the double digits, with 11 percent.

Three percent prefer Dick Gephardt and two percent liked John Edwards. Bob Graham, Carol Moseley Braun, Dennis Kucinich, and Al Sharpton all received less than two percent.

Thirty percent were still undecided.

Non-candidates Hillary Rodham Clinton and General Wesley Clark received 14 percent and 3 percent, respectively.

1. Good news for Dean
Since the last NH poll which was touted on this board gave Kerry a 10-point lead. But I think the sample is still too small--less than 300 people?

2. I think this will be an even race
Last time I saw, Kerry was up 28-18. I fully expect this to be a competitive race. I sleep a bit easier knowing that Kerry needs this state much more than Dean does.
