Dean to air Spanish Language ads in New Mexico/picks up 2 endorsements

This weekend during the DNC Hispanic summit, Democratic presidential nominee Howard Dean will air 30-second tv ads in Albuqurque of Dean speaking directly to the camera speaking spanish. Dean says reaching out to latinos is important to his campaign. The ads will air for about a week.

Also Dean picked up two more endorsements from the DC city council yesterday bringing the total number of endorsements to 8. There are 11 Democaratic coucilmembers. Dean is the only candidate to win any endorsements of the Democratic council members. DC Mayor Anthony Williams has not yet made an endorsement but Dean has had several conversations with him. Dean is trying to do well in the DC primary to show that his campaign has momentum among African-American voters.

Does N.MEX have a primary. If so when is it?

it is Feb 3rd the NM Caucus--and it is the same day as the South Carolina primary. I expect Dean will not win in SC, so he is smart to begin working hard in NM to offset what I think may be a Edwards or Clark victory in SC--though if Dean came in third in that state it would be a strong showing for him.

winning Missouri. I would agree with your analysis, except for one point--I think Lieberman will be out of it by this point too and Delaware I think would go for Dean.

Gephardt is a Congressman, so he represents one Missouri district, not the whole state. I believe there was a poll showing him surprisingly vulnerable in the Democratic primary there. Weird, eh?

Also, I'd dispute Delaware for Lieberman in that list (above). I would think that unlikely.

it might help, but I don't think endorsements are the end all in politics these days. For instance, Diane Feinstein also endorsed Kerry but I see California as a pretty good Dean state.
