I wonder what Oliver North will say if Kerry does. I mean, Kerry exposed him and all, and he shows that scene from the commitee hearings in his biographical video, but Oliver North would be so mad. I bet he still hates Kerry to this day.

1. Kerry and the NRA
A lot of union members are gun owners. Do you think they would support Kerry or Bush? I mean...Gore kind of lost West Virginia and Tenessee because of the gun issue.

2. You've been saying this in every thread,
and Gore didn't lose WV and TN because of the gun issue, he lost them because he didn't campaign there, and maybe a little bit of the environmental issue hurt him. Why are you only saying negative things?

3. There Were Several Iran-Contra People In The Bush Administration
Most notably, John Poindexter - the man who brought you gambling on terrorist attacks (and was forced to resign).

Pentagon scraps terrorism betting scheme

"The Pentagon has scrapped a planned online futures market that would have had investors betting on the probability of wars, terrorist attacks and assassinations.

The program came under the direction of retired Admiral John Poindexter but Senator Roberts said he saw no reason why he would leave his job.

Adm Poindexter, convicted for his role in the 1980s Iran-Contra scandal - a conviction which was later set aside - also spearheaded the Pentagon's so-called Total Information Awareness Program to collect information about potential terrorist threats from private databases."

And don't forget Eliot Abrams is still Condi Rice's aide - and in charge of African and Middle Eastern issues!!

5. This nonsense is part of the reason I can't stand Kerry
There is one thing Kerry and his supporters seem to frequently have in common. Both are more concerned about the damn image and status of the position of president than they are about actually doing the freaking job. With Kerry, it's all about how he looks to others, what others think of him, appearances and image. For God's Sake, it's sickening. This isn't a contest to see who looks the best in front of a boat or who can look cooler or intimidate anyone with some stupid macho, chest beating nonsense. It's not about pissing Oliver North off either, can we please get out of the 80's...that was 20 years ago. This is about tackling some huge challenges and really wanting to fix problems. A person can't do that if they are too busy worrying about wearing a helmet when they ride a motorcycle for fear someone might see them with helmet hair.

8. not sure
maybe he is talking about kerry's work to fight environmental racism. to prevent drilling. to defend gays in the military in the 80's. his legislation to raise cafe standards and his wider plans to protect and clean the environment. maybe i'm in the minority but i consider these things important for a president.

7. Kerry has done more against Ollie North and the BFEE than any other horse.
Even if it was 20 years ago, Kerry's done more than Dean or anybody else to bring to the light of day the criminality at the highest levels of government.

What do you think BCCI was all about? That's how money got paid to the Iranians in Iran-Contra. The same crooked bank was helpful in arming Saddam and every other crook around the world — commie or capitalist or fascist. And that's also how Bush Organized Crime Family, the bin Ladens, and every place they move oil, guns, or drugs did business. And BCCI and its principal players are tied to American Insurance Group and Union Bank of Switzerland of today. And, yes, the main characters go back to the JFK assassination 40 YEARS ago.

Wake up! As President, Kerry would appoint an honest Attorney General and keep going after him. Why you give him so much flack I can only imagine.

9. Oh c'mon

Your own hero Howie is the grandstander par excellence in this campaign. Mr. Loud. Yet he has no record of improving anything on a national level, let alone actually taking down any person of the radical Right.

Yes, it's easy to get all jealous and full of denial when someone else actually has a real track record- 20 years- in the Big Leagues, and has a few souvenir photos as a result. You can argue that Dean is the greatest person in political Triple A league history. But it's a double standard that you're arguing for.

14. triple A league?
Governing a state-any state- is not triple A league. That sort of attitude is probably partially to blame for how poorly Gore did in rural areas. Which states do you consider the pros? Is Arkansas pro or triple A? How about Georgia? Clinton and Carter were able to translate their experiences as governor into Presidential wins.

Dean has a great record of improving things on the state level. 11 years of balanced budgets, the lowest homicide rate in the nation, and cutting child abuse by 30%.

13. Substance over style?
One could easily argue that Dean is pure style, with promises and rhetoric with his main tools. Kerry meanwhile, is probably the substance, not as exciting, but has way more credentials and deeds to his resume. I do not get where you have concluded that Kerry is all about image. Sure, there is SOME image, you have to win with an image. Dean's image is pretty clear: the angry portly man with the rolled up sleeves who will take back the country from Bush. What's so wrong about that? What's so wrong about his supporters talking about that? If you want to talk issues, then there's more than enough threads where you could partake in.
