(Mayor Kirk) Humphreys (R-OK City) To Announce Senate Intentions Monday
POSTED: 6:25 p.m. CDT October 10, 2003

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City Mayor Kirk Humphreys, who has expressed interest in running for the U.S. Senate, plans an announcement Monday about a possible campaign.

Humphreys declined Friday to say exactly what he intends to announce but said it related to a Senate bid. He is scheduled to appear at a news conference with fellow Republican Sen. Jim Inhofe at the Tulsa Press Club.

"What we're going to announce will be of interest statewide," Humphreys said, "and of particular interest in Tulsa."

And then he added, "if you're going to win as Republican you better win in Tulsa and win convincingly. I may take up residency there."
