Dean vs. Bush Donors...
BUSH DONORS:
Don Jordan & Steve Letbetter
Houston, Texas
Top Executives, Reliant Energy

Mr. Jordan and Mr. Letbetter both gave the maximum $1,000 contributions to George W. Bush during the early stages of the 2000 campaign. Jordan retired as Reliant's chair and CEO in 2000 and was succeeded by Letbetter. Both were Bush "pioneers" during the 2000 campaign, which means they raised at least $100,000 from their wealthy friends. Reliant itself gave $100,000 to Bush's inaugural committee.

Following a year-long investigation, the Federal Energy and Regulatory Commission (FERC) found that Reliant, along with various other energy companies, used trading schemes to illegally drive up the price of energy in California. DEAN DONORS:
Karen and Don Brown
Louisville, Colorado
Public School Teacher and Small Business Manager

Karen and Don Brown have raised $1,196 on their Dean Team fundraising page.

Karen Brown, in a phone interview, talked about what brought her to the campaign: "Dean is so honest and truthful and passionate -- it's amazing to see. It's so heartening to see someone who loves this country so much.

"Part of contributing is that we don't expect anything back from our contribution. We are giving money because we believe that this country can be better than it is right now. It's like a family, and it's getting bigger every day.

"We've always been politically involved. Don is a city councilman, up for re-election this fall. I look at him and see how hard he works on this teeny little scale, so I know how hard the doctor works. But I also see what you can accomplish."

The Browns have a son, 11, and a daughter 8 and a half. Mrs. Brown said, "It's a fun thing as a family to do, to be involved in the excitement."

The Browns of this world will help us take our Country back...(along with the BBV folks!)
