New Zogby Poll shows Kerry holds Bush to his lowest %
The president would outpoll any of the current leading Democratic contenders if the election were held today. He would earn 46% of the vote against retired General Wesley Clark’s 37%; would beat former Vermont Governor Dr. Howard Dean, 47% - 39%; would poll 45% against Massachusetts Senator John Kerry’s 41%; would win over Missouri Congressman Richard Gephardt 47% - 38%, and would beat Connecticut Senator Joseph Lieberman, 46% - 38%.

1. DEMs want a candidate who'll CLOBBER Bush.
What I've heard over and over again, is our party wants a candidate who will beat the Little Turd from Crawford. That's the overriding concern.

IMO that candidate is Sen. John Kerry. My gut says the numbers will go Kerry's way if he can get his message through. It'll be tough because Crawford's missing Village Idiot has done NOTHING but make fund-raising speeches for three years, but — Hey! The Truth's worth something!

3. No. the audience needs to get smarter.
That's why in a Kerry Administration, one of the top priorities would be adequately funding public education in order to have smart, involved citizens. That way they can understand sentences that have more than five words in them.

BTW: How'd you get so smart, stickdog? Private school?

Decent public schools until high school, then my mother got me a scholarship to an all-male Jesuit prep school.

I wasn't thrilled at the time.

5. I agree
John Kerry does have a good message but he doesn't know how to package it to make it 'entertaining' for the masses. As I watched him on Hardball I realized he needs to work on the really stupid inconsequentional things that I'm sure his campaign staff doesn't consider important: like quick answers to silly questions like "What is your favorite movie?"

He stumbled around his answer, most likely the same reason why I would stumble around my answer - there are too many. I can't single out just one. Unfortunately, because he is a politician, it looks as if he is struggling to find the most politically correct movie. He needs to have stuff like this figured out already.

"For comedies, I like Blues Brothers, Animal House, but my favorite dramas are..."

I think Kerry also suffers from knowing the Big Picture and trying to help everyone else see the Big Picture, which is why he has difficulties in giving simple answers to questions that really aren't so simple. He knows you can't give specific answers to general questions, though because he doesn't - he looks 'too Washingtonian.'

He needs to streamline his campaign and take a few risks.
