Still stuck at work but I finally had a chance to see some of the returns for Philadelphia's Mayor race. It was a DISGUSTINGLY dirty race with the late-in-campaign investiagations and wire taps, but the philly voters opted to keep democrat John Street in office.

Philadelphia is the key to winning the state of Pennsylvania for 2004's presidental election. If we dems can get high voter turnout in the Philly area we can almost guarentee Pennsylvania (and maybe even a senator) for the presidental race. The Gore campaign in 2000 and Rendell's governor race in 2002 both campaigned heavily in the Philly area while Ron Klink's 2000 senate race to unseat Rick Santorum barely made a blip in the City of Brotherly Love.

This is a postive win for Democrats. It's sad to think we may lose Kentuck and Mississippi to republican governor, but these states usually end up in the Republican column for presidental elections. Pennsylvania tends to be a swing state and the Keystone State has been swinging to the left these past several presidental elections.

Great news from PA!!!
