Here's a poll we all can rejoice about: Feingold's numbers rise

A new Badger poll of Wisconsin residents indicate that 50% of Wisconsinites would vote to re-elect Russ while 30% would vote for someone else. This is up from a 42% re-elect number for Feingold in May of 2003.

George W. Bush has a 46% re-elect figure in the state, down from 52% in May, 2003.

3. I must admit something: Feingold proves me wrong.

I always say that someone too far to the left cannot be elected nationwide. I think Feingold proves me wrong. He's very far left, and he gets elected in a state that is evenly split. It's no longer a Dem stronghold, as 2000 proved. It's very close there now, and Feingold manages. I may have to reconsider my opinion.

4. Wisconsin never really was a Dem stronghold.

We may have voted for Dukakis, but that was a freak result.
