How Republicans see the Democratic field.
I found this amusing, thought I'd post it!

Who Is John Kerry?

"Kerry is . . . a man who opposes the death penalty, wants to restrict access to guns and voted against the resolution approving the start of ground operations against Saddam Hussein in 1991 -- just what you would expect from Ted Kennedy's partner and Michael Dukakis's running mate . . . ." (David S. Broder, "Testing The '04 Waters," The Washington Post, June 5, 2002)

KERRY: A NORTHEASTERN LIBERAL AND DUKAKIS'S LT. GOV. WHO VOTES LOCKSTEP WITH TED KENNEDY

-------------------
WHO IS CAROL MOSELEY-BRAUN?

A Controversial Liberal Who Was Rejected By Her Own State

BIG CITY LIBERAL: MOSELEY-BRAUN'S LIBERAL VOTING RECORD IS OUT OF TOUCH WITH MAINSTREAM AMERICA
--------------------

WHO IS AL SHARPTON?

A Liberal Democrat Out
Of Touch With America

"In the last decade it is hard to tell what a Democrat stands for. It is time for Democrats to be Democrats to be Democrats. And that's one of the reasons I am embarking on this race." (Rev. Al Sharpton As Quoted In Mike Glover, "Sharpton Vows To Engage In All Early Tests," The Associated Press, 2/10/03)
-------------------------

WHO IS DENNIS KUCINICH?

A Flip-Flopping Liberal Extremist

"Kucinich is no political powerhouse. . . . The nation came to know Kucinich as the 'boy mayor' of Cleveland, but forgot his name after he was forced from office after one controversial term. . . . creates annoying static, best tuned out." (Columnist Marie Cocco, "Democratic Leaders Abdicate On War Policy," Newsday , 9/26/02)

-------------------------

WHO IS JOHN EDWARDS?

An Unaccomplished Liberal In Moderate Clothing And A Friend To His Fellow Personal Injury Trial Lawyers.

"Edwards has become a captive of the trial lawyers and the left-wing special interests in Washington. He has lost touch with the average American. Clearly, he is not ready for 'prime time.'" (Marc Rotterman, "Way Out Of Touch," The News And Observer, December 8, 2002)

------------------------

Who Is Joe Lieberman?

"The Lieberman persona is so inventive, has been so creative, has been so gymnastic in its many shapes and forms, that only he can even begin to explain it. . . . Many politicians look a bit oily, a bit uncomfortable moving across and around the political spectrum, but our Joe looks as comfortable as if he's merely changing clothes." (Laurence D. Cohen, Op-Ed, "The Chameleon Who Came To Dinner," The Hartford Courant, November 3, 2002)

-----------------------

Who Is Dick Gephardt?

An Ineffective Leader And Traditional Liberal Democrat Who Is The "Keeper Of The Liberal Flame For Organized Labor And Party Activists." But, Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack Warned That Gephardt's Union Support Is Not A Sure Thing: "The Conventional Wisdom Assumes That Labor Is With Gephardt, And I Don't Know That That's True." (Lorraine Woellert, "Tom Daschle Hits The Ground Winning," Business Week, July 16, 2001; Dan Balz, "Presidential Hopefuls Court Iowa," The Washington Post, January 20, 2003)

-----------------------

WHO IS HOWARD DEAN?

An Ultra-Liberal On Social Issues Who Is Out Of The Mainstream And Wrong For America.

"Gov. Dean is an unabashed, unapologetic liberal . . . against the huge tax cut and for a dramatic universal health care plan. . . . Yes, Gov. Dean and the rest of New England are outside the current mainstream." (Editorial, "About Gov. Dean," Bangor Daily News, November 18, 2002)

DEAN IS ULTRA-LIBERAL ON CIVIL UNIONS

GOOD TIMES!

1. Sean, do I detect accidental bias here?
You left out my man,Wesley. Do they simply ignore him? Or are they scared to say anything?

2. sounds like they're scared of Dean
they came just short of saying that Dean drinks the blood of Christian babies. They didn't mention that he's being accused of being a fiscal conservative. They did mention that he' unabashed, which I dont know it means so i can't speak of the verity of that staetement. Unapologetic? I don't think so, he just apologized for the confederate statement. Unflinching is much more like it.

4. Where did they get this nonsense
Edited on Sat Nov-08-03 07:00 PM by genius
Lloyd Benson was Dukakis's running-mate, not Kerry. Kerry supports the death penalty for terrorists (e.g. the Democratic Party) but has a better stance on the issue than most candidates. He and Kennedy don't vote together or alike.

Dean is not a liberal. He is a conservative.

Otherwise, it's just a slanted attack piece obviously written by some Republican who knows little, if anything, about the candidates.

6. Bensen was Dukakis's VP running mate in 88.
Remember his famous line to Dan Quayle in the 88 debate? "I knew Jack Kennedy. I was a friend of Jack Kennedy's and you are no Jack Kennedy."

15. Sorry. After I posted that I realized you would have been a toddler.
The VP debate was the most memorable. The only thing I remember about the Dukakis-Bush debate was that Dukakis got caught off guard with a question about the death penalty.

11. Dean is a conservative?
Hm, I wouldn't say he's an ultra liberal but I also wouldn't clump Dean with the likes of Delay, Bush, Cheney, Lott, and other right wing nuts.
