A very Kerry change Replaces aide as new ads try to throttle Bush

WASHINGTON - Struggling to jump-start his sputtering White House campaign, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry fired his campaign manager and scheduled the first campaign ads showing President Bush swaggering around in a flight suit.

More staffers are expected to quit soon, a source close to the campaign told the Daily News.
The Associated Press reported that, in a conference call with his staff Sunday, Kerry enraged many by audibly eating as he announced Jordan's firing and dismissed it as "a one-day story."

"It's a Hail Mary," said University of Massachusetts political analyst Lou DiNatale. "This is a last-ditch attempt to slow down Dean. If
can't slow down Dean in New Hampshire, he may be out of it."
