10. Promo runs about 1 minute...then the interview begins.
That Fox interviewer is a Limbaugh-like scumbag. First, he asks Clark if Clinton approved his running and then he tries smear his patriotism by linking his statements about Bush sidetracking the WOT to endangering the troops in Iraq.

Clark rightly kicked this jerk's ass.

so in the debate he can call Bush a "cocksucking motherfucker."

13. Contrarywise,
He was hot under the collar with as much poise as any candidate I can imagine.

However, the faux punk, Dave Asman (?), is lucky Clark wasn't on the set with him. (It was a remote.)

I'd love to hear a tape of what the producers were klucking in Asman's earpiece. He closed saying he didn't want to "go through that territory again" with Clark. Damn straight, punk.

He was angry at having his words twisted and he let Asman have it. But good. And it was great to see.

27. They are hiding in their Fox holes
Now Fox is only running what Clark said about Newsweek. I think he scared them.

He is the only person I have seen kick butt and be poised at the same time.

He has arrived!

17. I saw that video...
Somewhat. Clark countenanced no SOP Fox tomfoolery. Good for him.

Every once in a while, one must strongly withdraw permission for an asshole to be an asshole. That is what Clark did. He was hardly unstable. He knew what game was afoot and nipped it in the bud, posthaste and forthwith.

As only a 4-Star can. Asman earned the ass reaming and he got it.

24. Amen!
I just watched the video and he did not look unstable at all. He was just genuinely pissed off (and rightly so) when the interviewer twisted his words to imply that he was unpatriotic for calling Iraq a sideshow in the war on terror.

I see what the wingers are doing and how they are trying to portray the General. I don't think it's going to work. He showed them up on FN today, he showed up Russert on MTP yesterday. As much they want him to, Clark is not going to shut up and go away. Good for him.

19. My wife and I
watched the video feed before FAUX (the WWE of journalism) took it down. He didn't say "bullshit" but if he had been in the same studio with Asnan I think he just might have opened a can of "whup ass" on him right then and there.

Later Britt Hume and his usual whores tried to express surprise that Clark acted so abruptly (can we get that woman dumped off NPR, by the way? She seems much more at home with FAUX so it seems unfair to keep her from her destiny). They pointed out that Asnan has a son who is a Marine and claim he was just trying to clarify what Clark meant by a "sideshow" in Iraq.

You'd have to be a total moron (or a FAUX serf) to misunderstand what Clark meant on MTP when he said that, but Asnan apparently has no problem with looking like a sub-human clod.

ANyway, Clark got loud and beligerant and poor old FAUX was terrified.

What a bunch of dims.

21. it's about time
that he expressed some emotions -- I'm a full-fledged Dean supporter, but have nothing against Clark and hope that he is Dean's VP (or, vice-versa, that's fine with me). But, I've been dissapointed in Clark's seemingly "going-through-the-motions" candidacy. Some of that can be attributed to actually figuring out how to run a campaing, but some of that is about the candidate. If he was as genuinely passionate as people on this thread have indicated, god bless him and i hope he shows more of it. (and none of that faux anger b.s. kerry was trying to perform at the JJ, either).

(would have definitely earned some bonus points if he broke out a full-fledged "bullshit" while on the air, too).

Edited on Tue Nov-18-03 02:41 AM by Frenchie4Clark
and carries himself as a President should.
That's what you are seeing is refined elegance, moxie and gravitas mixed in with a lot a charisma.

Clark just isn't a short Tony Robbins on steroids, is all.

But thanks for the back hand compliment on my chose candidate.

And don't bet on the VP thing.....Dean will have to earn/find his own foreign policy credentials and his own southern strategy.

But that was another back hand compliment...so you, thank.

and he didn't say bullshit, and he didn't look unstable. He looked damn mad, as he should have. I loved his closing..."Thanks for letting me explain that to Fox and all your viewers." He has Fox's number all right. He threw their crap right back in their face. It was GLORIOUS!

29. Still Doubt Clark?
Still not convinced he's a "real" democrat? I hope that's been put to rest. I think Clark hates Fox as much if not more than the rest of us. Guy doesn't take any shit - you may recall him taking Hannity to school last summer. I hope and pray the democrats wake up before the primaries and realize there is a reason Hannity, Tucker, Novak and Rove want Dean to be the nominee.

As I've said before, we have 9 candidates who are infinitely better choices than the current resident of the White House.

37. Anybody remember this?
From the Buzzflash interview with Gene Lyons....didn't understand what he meant at the time...but we saw it folks...Don't mess with Wes!

I want to be careful how I say this, but he has an almost feline presence -- and by that I don't mean "catty," as in bitchy. I mean like a big cat. I once encountered a mountain lion in the Point Reyes National Seashore in California, on a rainy day in winter, when I was all by myself. We stood stock still staring at each other for a few seconds. And there was this moment of "Gee, that's a cougar, this is really cool." And then an instant later, came the feeling of "My God, that's a lion!" There's nothing between me and him, no fence. Clark has a little bit of that kind of presence. You sense a tremendous personal authority about him held in and contained by self-discipline. Not somebody to fuck with, is another way of putting it.
