Oregon's Blumenauer endorses Kerry
Portland's Congressman on the Bicycle

“As a member of Congress dealing with the consequences of the Bush Administration everyday, the choice of a candidate for president was simple. John Kerry is one person running who is best qualified to be our President. A lifetime of public service -- in the military and as a district attorney and senator -- has made him battletested in a way no other candidate in either party could hope to be. For me, as someone whose career has been devoted not just to the protection but the enhancement of the environment and the promotion of more livable communities, John Kerry has the best record of environmental leadership, period. All our candidates care about the environment. John Kerry has done more on environmental issues and has been fighting our battles longer than anyone else. Anyone can have a good environmental website; John Kerry has the best program, the best team and the best record for the environment.

And finally, next November, John Kerry is the strongest Democratic candidate to beat George Bush.”

1. Well, he's my congressman
I like Kerry, too.

I just wish Earl would speak out more against the administration. He's the safest member of the Oregon delegation, I just wish he would step up like Peter DeFazio does.

10. He is too my rep...
Thou I think DeFazio is the safest of the Democratic delagation. Wu is the weakest. Earl has not truly pissed off that many people locally or nationally to get in trouble next year.

5. Blumenauer is a staunch environmentalist, isn't he?
I really hope to see RFKennedy Jr. as head of the EPA or Dept. of Interiors.

Kerry is the only candidate who can hit the ground running to reverse the environmental damage in this country and around the world. He has already worked with other world leaders for 10 years on the Kyoto Accord and understands the environmental needs and their varios economic issues.

11. Edwards and Kerry have a great mutual respect
and I expect they have things figured out one way or another. I see good things ahead for them both.
