Kucinich Joins Board of NCRPA
Edited on Tue Dec-02-03 06:13 PM by AnAmerican
"It is with great pride and also with great dedication that I have accepted a position on the Board of the National Coalition to Repeal the 'PATRIOT Act.' It will be an honor to work with the many talented individuals and organizations making up this grassroots effort, whose mission -- to protect our civil liberties from the PATRIOT Act, the Homeland Security Act, and other executive orders -- is in better touch with the American people than is the Congress of the United States. I am committed to working through NCRPA to defeat the efforts of the Bush administration to strip us of the rights we hold under the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendments."

1. wow again...
Kucinich is simply the best the dems have to offer. I would like some real change this time around. Is there anyone on DU that wants to keep the Patriot Act?

It's time for more that just the changing of the letter next to a President's name.

GO DENNIS!

3. Cool! I know he'll get it repealed when he's President
Isn't it pathetic that some other candidates won't even promise to get rid of the "Alien and Sedition Act" of our day?

4. Yeah, where's the "leadership"
we've heard so much about from the other candidates? Is ANYBODY else out there saying we need to get rid of the huge mistake called the USA PATRIOT act?

The Patriot Act is nothing but a giant turd (excuse my French). No matter how you try to "change" it, or "fix it", it's still a giant turd. No matter how you try to dress it up as something it's not, it's STILL a giant stinking turd.

Why are the other candidates so attached to it? Does it hold sentimental value? We should do with the Patriot Act that we do with other turds: get rid of them.

Just my $.02

7. Give it time
once they see DK pulling ahead on this issue, it will have to come up for them to do more than just 'fix it'.
This man is a true leader. Others follow.

10. More real, practical leadership from Kucinich
I love how he doesn't say politician like things such as "well we'll have to review that" and "I'll call for a review of the patriot act"

Guess it's time, once again, for the rest of them to update their platforms. ;)

14. Dennis' plan to fight terrorism?
Honest question, no attack; does he have one? And I don't mean just the peaceful side of the equation. That's the most important but there is also a police/intelligence side too. What's his plan there?

16. What OSP said, plus
We COULD have stopped 9/11. We had the intelligence, and the tools. That they were MISUSED or NOT followed should be the brunt of any course of action, not handing out powers that have been on intelligence wish-lists for years.
