What are the general trends with Politics now in '03-'04?
Everybody is talking about most non-southern states turning more against Bush, especially Illinois, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconson, Minnesota, possibly Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, now maybe even my home state of Colorado (I can only hope).

Is the pendulum swinging back the other way?

5. Real ostriches don't actually put their heads in the sand. It's a myth
It's gonna be bad. It's gonna be close and it's gonna be bad. It's gonna be worse if we persist in writing off the South. Arizona and Colorado are all but certain for Bush. Minnesota is one we could very easily lose. They will not vote for an old-line Democrat--they've been rejecting politicians like that in all their recent elections. Michigan is a toss up and Ohio is Bush's to lose.

I believe we can win, but we're going to have to work like hell and not believe we'll automatically win states that we could count on back in the 70s and 80s.
