The CDC (California Democratic Council) held their pre-endorsement caucuses throughout the state today. Briefly, the CDC is the more liberal wing of the California Demoratic Party and is the organization responsible for implementing and organizing Democratic Central Committees, clubs and caucuses throughout the state -- among other things.
Anyway, they held their regional pre-endorsement caucuses today. Most eveyhing had to do with local races but there were a couple of endorsements for Congressional candidates and a straw poll for the presidential candidates I thought might be of interest.
California Congressional District 19: No Democrats filed so it looks as though Radanovich (R) may run unopposed. We still have 5 more days to come up with a sacrafice candidate but no one seems to be interested. (One of my colleagues today suggested I run for the seat because, and I quote, "Vicki, you've got a big mouth, you run." All vicious rumors, I assure you.)
CD20: Two Democratic candidates: Lisa Quigly, currently Cal Dooley's Chief of Staff and Jim Costa, former Assemblymember and State Senator from Fresno. The local CDC Caucus endorsed Dooley.
CD21: We found a sacrifice candidate to run against the incumbant, Devin Nunes (R). The Democratic candidate is Fred Davis who is currently Region 12 CDC Vice President.
Presidential Straw Poll Results (Unofficial and non-binding):
Dean: 19 Clark: 2 Kucinich: 1 Gebhart: 1
