NBC News - GOP subsidiary?
I usually avoid TV like the plague...but after work I took my wife to pickup her car at the dealer, so I sat in the customer lounge which was showing NBC nightly news (probably around 7:10 ET) and all they did was bash Kerry! This female reporter reported that Kerry didn't get the expected bump from the convention. Hmmm, why? Here's why: "the Republicans explained that the Democratic Convention was marred by three things: Kerry's bunny suit picture, Sharpton's partisan speech, and Teresa's "shove it" comment.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, I know who watched the Democratic convention felt the Dems hit a home run. I'm positive it struck a chord among many undecideds and moderates. I've also seen polls that document a bump in Kerry's support. How dare this bitch (sorry, I'm super pissed here) tell Americans there was no bump. And how dare she pimp the GOP talking points! The ONLY people I've heard even mention the "bunny suit" photo is the press, but it gave NBC a chance to show the picture again and explain to the brain-dead Americans that they are now supposed to equate Kerry with silly costumes. It should be very obvious to an experienced reporter that the GOP intentionally released the pictures and are now trying use them to demean Kerry.

This is one of those nights when I feel the deck is stacked incredibly high against the Democrats that I quiver with anger and yet feel helpless. I'll call NBC tonight, but I know that my fury will result in angry words and nothing will come of it.

It depresses me that so many people blithely get their news from polluted sources like NBC News.

1. CNN is exactly the same way...
They are ALL RNC WH*RES, the entire lot of 'em.

The only ones I used to think had any shred of integrity left was CBS, but with their refusing the MoveOn ad during the super-bowl, I even crossed them off the list. They are still the best of them, though. As long as Sumner Redstone is still around they may maintain some shred...once he's gone, though ... bets are off!

So, yeah, aren't you glad you don't watch the TV news? That is EXACTLY the kind of bullsh*t you will see, day-in, day-out from all of them.

and you are so right, it is very scary and depressing in so many ways...

2. Ohmygod! I said the exact same thing and had to turn off the TV!
Not only were they critical of Kerry, there was zero negative info about Bush!! All they do is attack Kerry and either say nothing about Bush or make some small criticism and then offer excuses for the president without question. I've stopped watching the National (or local) news they are all the same and I can't take it!

I told my friend that, to a person who is at all informed, the corporate sponsored news is useless.

3. I think the one bright spot is that they are being too obviously
biased. I have always been a news junkie and I can't remember any time the bias has been so so blatant. I think the mediawhores have gone too far which is why people are going to see films like F911 because even the uninformed are getting the message that the truth is being withheld.

4. NBC = No Bush Criticism
They get memoes from Cheney's office telling what to say and how to say it. I'm serious....

You know. I was on a, one of those morning talk shows and after we went to commercial, the person who was interviewing me said you know, you know, you are right, I mean when the war started, it was very difficult here to book the people we wanted to book, ask the questions we wanted to ask. In fact, I got a memo about my tone of voice. And apparently the brass had received a call from the Dick Cheney’s office is what--and said that he didn't like my tone of voice. And I got a memo on it to watch my tone of voice. Well you've got to tell that story! You've got to tell that story. I can't. Well why? They can't fire you. You are like one of the most well-known people in America. And, you know, you've got to tell this story.

That was from Michael Moore during his tour of the belly of the beast. More here: http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/index.php?id=113

He hasn't named the interviewer yet that I have seen.
