Am I looking at Google "Activism" here? It seems awfully slanted...

or balanced, depending on how you look at it.

This is a screengrab of Google News front page, cropped, with my lines added and irrelevant items removed to make room for text.

Thoughts?

1. Google news is done entirely by computer...

The problem is that recently, certain second tier, mostly conservative news sites have figured out how to exploit it's ranking algorithm in such a way as to have their content placed first.

2. I doubt that

Google might say it's done with computers, but no algorithm is that perfect that it needs no instruction once it's been booted out the nest in order to learn to fly.
