Call to Arms! I call for the foundation of a new media watchdog group.
The Citizens for the Enforcement of Responsible Journalism (CERJ) could be dedicated to the proposition of holding "News" organizations accountable for their bullshit.

Remember those heavy fines the FCC weighed against Janet Jackson's left boob, and Howard Stern? Well I propose we double that fine and impose it upon any "News" organization that systematically misleads the public.

I find that any organization that passes itself off as a News Organization and then turns around and purposfully misinforms people is at least four times as offensive to me than any display of nudity or foul language.

Just imagine, a $500 million fine against FOX for every infraction, retroactive over the last eight years?

And not just for out and out lies, it is the duty of a journalist to remain neutral, or at least to give the impression of neutrality to his veiwers. Real journalists tell you the facts of a situation and then allows you to draw your own conclusions. Some News organizations they as it stand today will give you a few facts and spend the rest of their time trying to tell you how to feel about it. That's not their job, that's not the way it is supposed to be done. I propose a coming together of fact checkers and legal experts to sue FOX NEWS, and every other guilty "news" organization for misleading the public.

1.  Thats really good
This is something we should work on. It's a positive move that could bring results. The media has been out of control since Clinton. I bet poppa Bush was behind the get Clinton movement. How this all came about I wish I knew, it did start with Clinton, there was such a hatred for him for taking Poppa Bush's second term away.

3. COUNT ME IN
Let me know if you need any help with this. I'd jump on board full time.

The Media as is ... MUST GO DOWN.

Before election day, I had written them and told them that Sinclair was given a break compared to what the people will organize to do to them. They deserve it, and they are definetely NEXT.

GOING DOWN !!!

4. Sort of a citizens FCC in exile
We could have a system of justice in place which would render verdicts. The verdicts would not be enforcable, but they would help make our point.

5. What this group really needs is a leader...
I have no experience as a such, and this is too important an issue for someone with no leadership skills to be in charge of.

I'm more of an idea person, I can get the ball rolling, but it's going to have to be up to someone else to keep it rolling. I'll help however I can though.

I would suggest working in collaboration with other media watchdog groups, contacting Al Franken (who's Team Franken cataloged tons of media lies for one of his books) and making sure that we apply this standard evenly. If all of a sudden there was a true Liberal Media, and if they tried to pass themselves off as legit News but slanted it, we would be obligated to point out their bias as well. However, if we target the biggest offenders first (FOX), we shouldn't have to worry about facing off against a left leaning news source.

We also need to crack down on News Papers as well. Like pushing to enact a law that requires all retractions be printed on the front page. If you were forced to wear your mistakes out in the open for all to see, you'd be more wary of making mistakes wouldn't you?
