Alain Keyes is right!!!

Yes, you heard correctly, Alain Keyes is right. It is the media. Make no mistake, Obama won in spite of the media, not because of it. But it's been obvious for many years now that the rest of the country's been "trending" repub because it hears nothing but praise for the repub viewpoint, and non-stop ridicule of the democratic. There are two sides to this.
1. Consistent repub bias in the mainstream media (MSM)
2. Incompetent democratic-leaning media

The reason I think the media is the biggest part of it is that fantasy is much easier to handle for the human mind than reality. People may die in Iraq, and wages and jobs might be down, but if the whore Chao repeats a thousand times that things are about to get better because of tax cuts, people want to believe that, more than JK saying that we aren't doing enough. Not having done enough imples that we've been failures for 4 years economically and in terms of security, and no one wants to admit to failure.

To list a few details on each.
1. Consistent repub bias
- Any talk show station/channel is packed with the wingnuts - Oxycontin, convicted felons Liddy & North, some Manco guy in Chicago, etc.
- Praise for repubs by Jennings, Rather, Broke, and your local overpaid anchor (whom you wouldn't hire to run your copier)
- Some kinda glorification for privatization, "free" markets, rugged individualism, and ridicule of "socialization," "big" government," European ideas like universal health care, the living wage, gun control, choice, and so on.
- Historical revisionism: not showing the bodies landing at Dover AFB, not talking about Iraqi casualities, not mentioning the runaway success in Clinton's war, etc.

2. Incompetent democratic media
- AAR got off way too late, like what, a year ago? They're still not in the markets where they can make a difference; they're not even in markets where they can make revenue to carry them in markets where they don't; for example, not in IL, which is only a little less blue than NY, and we don't even have a pretend-repub mayor.
- Constant repub pandering by so-called liberal commentators, for example, NPR/PBS personalities who go on talk shows and only offer a lukewarm defense of our side, because all they want is a cushy job at Fox

So I mean, the man is a total nutcase, but this doesn't mean he can't hit upon the truth once in a while. What Alain thinks he experienced in IL is what the democrats experienced for the last 4 years nationally. Mayor Daley is right too, the Kerry campaign was far too Washington-centered - they paid too much attention to the press corpse, not realizing that the only thing a contemporary journalist wants is a garotte around the DNC's neck, because the good media jobs are all in the wingie owned networks.

now and again. Hitler and Mussolini made the trains run on time in their countries. Keyes is a lunatic.

6. Trending Right?
If this country is trending right, it's because too many people get their news from 30-second soundbites. And most people who listen to talk radio get their information from Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Dr. Laura. And they don't do their own research to see if what they are hearing from Sean Hannity is correct.

One of the things I respect about Air America Radio, is that they encourage people to do their own research, not just take what AAR says as the gospel. Randi Rhodes always posts various documents to her website, but she also tells people to not just read the documets she has on her website. She tells them to research on their own.
