Poll question: Anybody else listen to pirate radio?
We have two great pirate radio stations in San Diego, Free Radio San Diego, 96.9 FM, and Radioactive Radio, 106.9 FM.

I find very little time now for TV, Air America, or whatever is online, because my local pirate stations are so good. Does anyone else listen to pirate radio?

1. Orlando doesn't have any BROADCAST pirate radio...
...but there's always Shoutcast broadcasts on the Internet, using the free Winamp program. My favorite is Dementia Radio (details at www.dementiaradio.org) on Thursday evenings, with Tony Goldmark's Looney Bin and The Great Luke Ski's Dementia Revolution. If you don't get Dr. Demento on your local radio (we don't) it's the most fun you can have on the radio...especially after coming here to read about the latest right-wing depredations.

3. As much as I can
I don't have any FM pirates in my area, unless you count my own micro FM, but I'm an avid shortwave pirate listener.

Any other Pirate SWL's? Please check in.

4. don't forget LPFM!
Here in Asheville, NC we're lucky to have both Free Radio Asheville and a new low-power FM station WPVM - the Progressive Voice of the Mountains. WPVM has got a lot of great music and news and is available by webcast. I volunteer for WPVM and it's been cool to see people tuning in from all over the world for some of our local shows!
