CNN economics correspondent wrong again on Social Security

For the second time in three days, CNN economics correspondent Kathleen Hays made an inaccurate claim regarding Social Security. On the February 3 edition of CNN's Wolf Blitzer Reports, Hays incorrectly claimed that under the current system, workers are unable to "pass their Social Security retirement benefits on to their heirs." In fact, surviving spouses and children can all obtain benefits based on the lifetime payroll taxes paid by a deceased parent or spouse.

2. Challenge her? Please Wolfie is way to busy trying to look like he is a

brilliant journalist. Besides Bush has always had more supporters for his plans in the media then in his own party. I'm not an expert on SS or the stock market but, even I can without knowing shit, figure out that this plan is doomed to create only create another bureaucracy which won't be able to pay for itself and has more benefits and gains for people who don't really have to depend on SS in their old age then for the people who do. Bush is intent on putting every government run program into the hands of privateers who's only goal will be to steal a profit if they can't make one the old fashion way. By earning it.
