What`s next? Two cold feet on the cover of Time Magazine?
The only reason the cold-feet bride ever made it to tv is that she`s...how shall I say this?...Just like us....Just like the tv newsreaders...Just like America. We had the grieving Christian fiance. The preacher. The 14(or so)bridesmaids. The gift registry. The Hispanic van driver. Perfect. Problem is, the whole thing blew up right along with any smidgeon of credibility corporate media may have had left.

Ask yourself if this story would have received the same attention if the bride-to-be had been Native American or African American or homeless or eighteen and pregnant. My guess is a resounding NO. Might as well stick with the types we see in shampoo commercials. They sell.

Watching corporate media act on their priority list is like watching your house burn because the firemen are playing cards on your picnic table. It`s beyond senseless.

These last few days have left me dumbfounded. I`m reading casualty figures while corporate media has a small army with cameras zeroed in on an empty phone booth. You know, the BRIDE`S very phone booth. Tonight I even saw an example of a cheese knife she had chosen to be listed in her gift registry. Lovely cheese knife. Silver, I imagine.

My head hurts.

1. my take on this-
is that the media is really pissed at the runaway bride---She isn't dead or still missing - she was just askeered! They want her dead and the fiance the guilty one - ain't it a shame?

Kind of put all the faux, msnbc, et al--- in the trash....so they're dragging it out as long as possible...and trying to have her tried, convicted and her family saying they hate her ----just because she was rather stupid, and it messed up their punditry.

2. When I first heard of that story, I thought
CNN is HQ'd in Atlanta, this girl's from Atlanta, they seem to be heavy on local stuff and this was a nice tidy distraction- someone who worked there told his department head about his neighbor being missing and they decided to run with it, and 20 minutes later Fox jumped on board too, with MSNBC closing in 15 minutes later.

I think it's pretty rich local girl, and CNN loves that shit.
