Yesterday, I fired off the following:

Over 55 million people supported George W. Bush's handling of the war in Iraq.
Estimate a third of those voting are physically capable of donning a uniform and picking up a rifle (meaning that they're not too old and not disabled). Halve that, if you don't think women should see combat.
That leaves approximately 18 million recruits (9, if you only want to count males).
So why are the military recruiters having problems filling the combat boots? There are 9 or 18 million "patriots" out there who are going "Not me! Let someone else fight the war I support!"
