Prarie Home Companion is being made into a movie, by famed director Robert Altman.

Why not have him next do "Democraticunderground - The Movie"?

Studs Terkel could spend 99.9% of the film following our post-ers around in daily life

MICHAEL MOORE ALSO A GOOD INTERVIEWER FOR THIS FILM:
either one could pull in viewers.
Hmmm. Why not have Terkel do the older post-ers {"Old Lefty Lawyer" and "Senior Citizen"} while Moore does the younger ones? Terkel would know what the older ones faced in the '5O's.

Theme 1., as seen in post-ers own lives ----

1. some are planning where to best fall into homelessness

2. some are docs, some engineers, some idle rich

Theme 2., would come out in the chatter with Moore or Terkel.

DAILY ROUTINES
Terkel or Moore could follow post-ers around as they do their daily routine, chatting about how DU is a big part of their life. About LW ideas, about deaing with freepers online and at work, about dealing with conservative parents who "are on some other planet apparently".

I think Terkel has done another such film.

DEMONSTRATIONS, FOR VISUAL INTEREST:
We could add visual interest by following some to demonstrations. And insert music by Pete Seger and some bands - "If you come to San Francisco" would be a good one.

But a pure conversation movie CAN hit it big - wasnt there one called "conversations with Andre"?

BRIEF SHOTS OF THREADS:
For some brief shots, each post-er would sit down and start a thread, and half the screen would show the computer as the post-er chats with Moore about it. Replies would pop on, and the post-er would groan or laugh at it.

This would really add to DU's fame.

I don't really get out much. I'm afraid I'll get attacked by Republicans or that I'll get arrested for being a Democrat or insufficiently pro-war. I worry a lot about the BFEE doing something violent that affects me personally.

I listen to my significant other scream on a regular basis about how she and everyone she knows is scared s***less of what the BFEE are going to do next, and how she's afraid of getting attacked for being American because of what BushCo has done if we move out of the country, and afraid of going broke if we emigrate.

The BFEE has wrecked my life.
